EDA firm Calypto names new CEO

SAN FRANCISCO—Privately held EDA vendor Calypto Design Systems Inc. Wednesday (Jan. 26) announced that Doug Aitelli, currently the company's current vice president of worldwide sales, will assume the position of CEO.
Aitelli succeeds Tom Sandoval, who will continue to serve on Calypto's board of directors, focusing on strategic growth opportunities, Calypto (Santa Clara, Calif.) said.
Aitelli is an EDA veteran with more than 25 years of experience in sales, sales management and strategic account development. He joined Calypto as vice president of worldwide sales in 2007. Prior to that, Aitelli held various sales and sales management roles at Magma Design Automation Inc. and Synopsys Inc.
"Doug’s extensive EDA business acumen will accelerate the expansion of Calypto’s customer base and propel the company into its next stage of development," said Sandoval, through a statement.
Calypto is a provider of RTL power optimization and functional verification software based on its patented sequential analysis technology.
