PARIS – MunEDA GmbH (Munich, Germany) announced it has joined the Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) and the Si2's Open Process Design Kit Coalition (OPDKC).
The OpenPDK Coalition was founded in mid-2010 with the goal of defining a set of open standards to allow an OpenPDK to be created once and then translated into specific EDA vendor tools and specific foundry formats. This allows an OpenPDK to be as portable across foundries and as agnostic to EDA tools as possible. The Si2 OpenPDK aims to enable higher efficiency in PDK development, verification and delivery and to provide equivalent support to all foundries, all EDA tool vendors, all IP providers, and all end users.
“We joined Si2 because it is the key organization for innovation and standardization in the EDA and semiconductor industry,” stated Andreas Ripp, MunEDA Vice President Sales & Marketing. “We will mainly collaborate in the Si2 OpenPDK coalition to bring in and share our deep knowledge in design analysis, modeling and optimization methodologies with the other Si2 partners.”
MunEDA provides EDA software technology for analysis, modeling and optimization of yield and performance of analog, mixed-signal and digital designs. MunEDA's products and solutions enable customers to reduce the design times of their circuits and to maximize robustness, reliability and yield. MunEDA's solutions are in industrial use by leading semiconductor companies in the areas of communication, computer, memories, automotive and consumer electronics.
