EE Times honors 2011 ACE Award winners

SAN JOSE, Calif.—EE Times Tuesday (May 4) honored the winners of the 2011 Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards in a reception at the Embedded Systems Conference here.

The ACE Awards celebrate the creators of technology who demonstrate leadership and innovation in the global industry and shape the world we live in.
The 2011 winners were:

Design Team of the Year – Prime Sense

Innovator of the Year – Mario Paniccia, Intel Fellow, Intel Labs Director, Photonics Technology Lab, Intel Corp.

Executive of the Year –
Jason Rhode, President & CEO, Cirrus Logic

Startup of the Year – Globalfoundries Inc.

GF has been around for awhile but as an independent entity it's become more "self-sustaining" last year, albeit owned by ATIC: http://www.eetimes.com/electronics-news/4211766/ATIC-takes-control-of-GlobalFoundries
