Imagination Technologies Group plc has been busy signing up new licensees and extending its deals with other semiconductor companies.

It has signed further multi-use licence and extension agreements with Renesas Electronics Corp. for  graphics technologies from Imagination's POWERVR SGX Series5XT IP core family which it plans to use SoC designs for the mobile, consumer and automotive markets.

Another company extending its deal with Imagination is MediaTek Inc. adopting both the latest member of Imagination's POWERVR SGX graphics processor family and for Imagination's POWERVR Series6 multimedia family, codenamed Rogue.

New to Imagination is LG Electronics Inc. which has licensed the POWERVR graphics IP technologies which will be used in SoCs targeting mobile and consumer markets.

Imagination has also signed a strategic license agreement with Fujitsu Semiconductor Ltd. for the POWERVR SGX graphics and POWERVR video technologies.

Fujitsu has extended in terms of using additional IP cores and targeting new markets and Fujitsu Semiconductor Europe says it will be one of the first groups to take advantage of the extended partnership in products targeting the automotive market.

Under the terms of its license agreements Imagination receives licence fees and royalty revenues based on shipments of semiconductor products incorporating its IP.
