LONDON – Chip company NXP Semiconductors NV has announced the appointment of Kin Wah Loh as executive vice president responsible for sales and marketing and as a member of the NXP management team. Loh will be based in Singapore and has resigned from the board of directors of RDA Microelectronics Inc. (Shanghai, China) to avoid any conflict of interest.
Loh was president and CEO of DRAM maker Qimonda AG after its spin-off from Infineon Technologies AG (Munich, Germany) and, prior to that, was a member of the Infineon AG executive management board responsible for the communications business and subsequently memory products.
"Loh has a fantastic insight into the challenges and demands of the Asian market, and his appointment will significantly strengthen our presence in the region as we continue to expand there," said Rick Clemmer, president and CEO of NXP (Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in a statement.
Loh held a series of management positions within Siemens and Infineon in both Europe and Asia. He was the Asia-Pacific regional president for Infineon; general manager and production manager of Siemens Components Pte. Ltd. of Singapore; and manufacturing manager for Siemens production facilities in Germany and Malaysia.

I think it is natural to focus on Asian market, especially the greater China area. NXP is still a strong supplier for white goods.

"Loh has a fantastic insight into the challenges and demands of the Asian market..." tell that to all the former QI Germany staff, at least now they will know why Qimonda went into bankruptcy. NXP should take care...
