Kivic ONE brings AirPlay to cars at CES

LAS VEGAS--With the recent surge of smart devices, demand to play one’s media anywhere and everywhere is also on the rise. This demand has spawned companies like Kivic, which was showing off its range of wireless and AirPlay compatible products at CES in Las Vegas last week.
The Kivic One, in particular, is a device which allows users to hear and see all the multimedia content from their smartphone in their car, via their vehicle’s own AV system, using wireless.
About the size of a large box of matches, Kivic One can receive AirPlay audio/video, or DLNA/Wi-Fi encoded media, while outputing it via HDMI.
Kivic currently works for both Apple and Android smart devices, and brings Apple’s wireless AirPlay feature to the car for the first time, allowing iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or Mac users to stream their iTunes libraries to the vehicle’s speakers. Airplay also allows users to simultaneously stream music to multiple speakers, while sending information about the track to any display attached to the sound system.
The special sauce Kivic brings to the table is the “mirroring” which forwards the contents from a smartphone screen to a larger display, allowing people to beam over anything from movies to GPS navigation to apps like Internet radio.
Better still, with a product like Kivic installed for around $200, a consumer would not necessarily need to upgrade to a new “smart car” with all the bells and whistles of in-car infotainment so often touted at consumer electronics shows.

this is a good adapter designed to use in cars. This gives lot of flexibility and comfort to use all the multimedia we have in the car. Also i feel that this is use full in apartments.

I'm really amused with all these new devices targeted for the infotainment in cars. But are these going to take up the speed to get into cars outside the ones supplied by the car makers directly.
