CEO panel
If you are determined to walk the halls of Electronica, organizers recommend that you are prepared to depart from more formal business attire at least on your feet. However, the way Electronica is organized with individual halls used to collect particular types of components together can serve to minimize the distances walked.

For Electronica, comfortable shoes are a must
While the presence of so many exhibitors – with large numbers now coming from Asia – could keep an attendee busy throughout the four-day event, there are numerous co-located conferences and sessions spread across the four days which can also provide important information-gathering opportunities.
One of the highlights is the CEO panel. Executives from Europe's leading chip companies will debate the current state of the industry on the opening day of Electronica, usually with a U.S. guest CEO to provide international perspective. This year's panel include: ST CEO Carlo Bozotti; Rick Clemmer, CEO of NXP Semiconductors; Gregg Lowe, CEO of Freescale Semiconductor; and Reinhard Ploss, CEO of Infineon Technologies.
This year's CEO panel comes amid economic uncertainty spawned by the euro currency crisis and the social unrest caused by European austerity measures. The CEO panel will focus on "Semiconductor solutions for the smart-grid challenge," and may well spare the CEOs from having to answer some difficult questions about their businesses by allowing them to address the specific opportunity of electricity distribution.

During the Electronica CEO panel in 2010 Carlo Bozotti, CEO of STMicroelectronics, shared a joke with Peter Bauer, CEO of Infineon (far left), and Henri Richard, senior vice president of global sales and marketing at Freescale Semiconductor. NXP CEO Rick Clemmer looks on.
