Electronica 2012 highlights mobile, embedded

The Electronica Forum kicks off with the CEO panel on Tuesday, and then follows up with a variety of presentations over the following days.

Microsystems and MEMS are covered in seven presentations on Tuesday afternoon. During Wednesday afternoon the Electronica Forum takes on two topics: Ambient assisted living refers to issues of health monitoring and the smart grid. Thursday morning moves to the optic of organic and printed electronics while Thursday afternoon is occupied with panel discussions on supply chain issues and further sessions on the smart grid.

In Hall C1 at booth 320 a theater supports the PCB and Component Forum which runs on Tuesday and Wednesday providing scope to discuss technical issues around the increasing frequency demands on connectors and PCBs as well as market forecasting.

With an eye to issues the industry faces in terms of attracting young people to enter the electronic engineering profession Friday (Nov. 16) has been designated "Student Day." About 300 engineering student from across Germany have been invited to attend and be part of a series of events focused on young people in the industry. A panel discussion is scheduled on the topic of starting a career and there will also be a networking lunch with attending sponsors.
