Intel Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co., the world’s two-largest chip companies, may compete to acquire Infineon Technologies AG’s mobile-phone business, according to Citigroup.

Definitely Infineon's mobile-phone unit will be a better fit for Samsung than Intel. Samsung is currently the second largest manufactuer of cell phones, and bringing in infineon's engineers & IP makes sense for them.
