TAIPEI--Foxconn Technology Group, the parent of Apple Inc's (AAPL) supplier Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. , said Thursday a 22-year old male employee was found dead outside an off-campus private apartment building in the city of Guanlan, southern China, on Wednesday morning.
The company said it was informed by police in Shenzhen, China, without giving more details about the incident.

Why are people are always interested in this kind of thing?? Foxconn has roughly 800,000 employes globally so in the grand scheme of things is this really industry related news? Or are the media's knives still out regarding Foxconn's working conditions?

I think it is because if you see one instance of something like this from within China, then you can be assured there are many many others not reported. The message China wants the world to hear/read/understand is the one they release. Foxconn employees are not allowed internet access for example. China will decide what they want the rest of the world to read about them.
