Silicon Power unveils 7-mm SSDs for ultra-slim notebooks

A pair of 7-mm SSDs is suited for ultra-thin notebooks. Using the 6 Gbps SATA III interface, the SP Slim series from Silicon Power comprises two models that range in capacity from 60 GB to 480 GB. The Slim S60 delivers read speeds up to 550 MB/s and write speeds up to 500 MB/s. Meanwhile, the Slim S70 features the SandForce SF-2281 controller with synchronous NAND flash for 557 MB/s in read speed and 507 MB/s in write speed. The S70 also boasts random a 4 K write speed of up to 86,000 IOPS.
