A free, downloadable SPICE simulation tool adapted for linear component evaluation is available from Analog Devices and National Instruments. The tool, NI Multisim Analog Devices Edition, is a new version of the NI Multisim SPICE simulation software that comes pre-loaded with more than 800 Analog Devices linear circuit models.

Designers using the software will be able to build circuits with up to 25 elements while choosing from among more than 800 ADI op amps, switches and voltage references. The tool can be used to quickly prototype a design and perform part selection. Designers can then upgrade to a complete version of NI Multisim to complete their design and transfer to NI Ultiboard for board layout and production.

NI Multisim Analog Devices Edition is available for free download from the Analog Devices web site http://www.analog.com/multisim, which includes the ADIsimOpAmp free online amplifier parametric evaluation tool that allows designers to select, configure and troubleshoot a circuit using a graphical development environment powered by National Instruments LabVIEW graphical programming language and NI Multisim SPICE simulation software.
