Diodes Incorporated has introduced the AH5792 smart motor controller for driving low-power, single-coil, brushless DC fans and motors. The single-chip solution integrates a Hall sensor and amplifier, complete digital control circuitry and a full bridge output driver into an SOT553 package.

By eliminating the need for external components such as a timing capacitor, the AH5792 is particularly suited for low-voltage micro-motors and ultra-thin cooling fan applications. Features include Rotor Lock Protection and an externally controlled Tachometer. Operating voltage range is 1.8 V to 5 V.

The AH5792 is priced at $0.20 USD in 1,000 qty. Delivery is 4-6 weeks in production volumes.
