Low-voltage ASICs target low cost apps
1/27/2010 5:07 PM EST
The NX750LP and NX750 Nextreme devices offer operating voltage down to 1.0V and are optimized for applications that require low cost and low power such as smart meters, portable projectors, toys, and handheld medical devices, according to eASIC (Santa Clara, Calif.).
The NX750LP and NX750 low core voltage device options are suited designs that require up to 55,000 logic cells (about 750,000 gates), eASIC said. These devices are available as part of eASIC's ASIC-in-a-Box design kits that enable designs to be implemented in as little as four weeks, according to the company.
Pricing for the low-voltage devices starts at $3.95 per unit in high volumes, eASIC said.
