DAC delivers high quality audio performance in a small package size
Paul Buckley11/27/2012 10:52 PM EST
Wolfson Microelectronics plc has introduced the company's stereo digital-to-analog converter (DAC), the WM8533, which claims to provide outstanding audio performance in a small package size for a wide range of consumer electronic applications.
The WM8533 delivers 106 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and features an integral charge pump, software control interface and offers 2 Vrms line driver outputs where a 3.3 V power supply rail is used. The WM8533 is the ideal solution for a wide range of consumer digital audio applications including set top boxes, digital televisions, DVD players and games consoles.
The WM8533 also features ground-referenced outputs and the use of a DC servo to eliminate the need for line driving coupling capacitors and effectively eliminate pops and clicks at power on. The device also supports all common audio sampling rates between 8 kHz and 192 kHz.
Availability
The WM8533 is available for sampling now in a WCSP package.
