Microsemi Corp. has expanded its optical transport network (OTN) portfolio with the single-chip, ZL30165 line card device for OTN transport and switching applications.

According to Microsemi, the ZL30165 is the industry's first monolithic line card device for OTN transport and switching applications. The ZL30165 has already been selected by number of leading OTN equipment manufacturers for use in 40G and 100G equipment.

Key features include four integrated digital phased lock loops (DPLLs) capable of locking on to up to 10 inputs targeting muxponder applications that support multi-client transport on a single wavelength.  This allows equipment manufacturers to reduce the number of PLLs devices required in 100G applications, which saves board space and reduces bill of material costs.

Availability and Support
The ZL30165 is available in volume production quantities now. Additional information on Microsemi's OTN timing devices, including full data sheets and application notes, is available to qualified customers.
