Simi Valley, CA — Innovative Integration has announced the X5-COM XMC IO module. The module features a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA, four 4.125 Gbps serial Rapid IO (SRIO) ports, and a PCI Express host interface. The X5-COM targets compute-intensive applications such as Ethernet packet processing, encryption and test.

The X5-COM module implements Innovative's Velocia architecture featuring a 8-lane PCI Express interface that provides over 1 GB/s sustained transfer rates to the host. Four additional private SRIO links with over 800 MB/s capacity are provided for system integration.

The X5 family can be fully customized using VHDL and MATLAB using the FrameWork Logic toolset. The MATLAB BSP supports real-time hardware-in-the-loop development using the graphical, block diagram Simulink environment with Xilinx System Generator. Software tools for host development include C++ libraries and drivers for Windows and Linux.
