Power relays fit tight spaces
Schaumburg, Ill. — Omron Electronic Components LLC has introduced two series of power PCB relays that require about 20 percent less board space than conventional "sugar cube" relays.

The G5LB and G5LB-25 series of power PCB relays measure 19.6 (W) x 15.6 (D) x 15.2 (H) mm and are also 20 percent shorter than "sugar cube" relays. The low-profile and subminiature size make these relays suitable for clean room filtering devices, freezer controls, and HVAC zone applications.

The unique geometry of the switch contacts allows the relays to switch 10 amps at 120/250 Vac and 8 amps at 30 Vdc, and switch digital signals. The relays' coils have a low-power consumption of 360 mW. Class B coil insulation is standard, and class F is available. In addition, the tracking resistance value of CTI >175 is standard and CTI >250 is available, which also meets the EU glow-wire test requirements. These relays are UL, CSA, and VDE approved.

Available in SPDT and SPST contact configurations, these fully sealed relays are RoHS compliant. The G5LB operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, and has an electrical life of 100,000 operations, while the G5LB-25 operates in a temperature range of -40°C to 105°C with a class F insulation system, and features an electrical life of 200,000 operations.

Pricing for the G5LB and G5LB-25 relays ranges from $0.45 to $0.63 in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is from stock to eight weeks. Free engineering samples and a complete set of technical data is available.
