Harwin has added an extra-small bore crimp contact to its Datamate family of high reliability 2mm pitch connectors, designed for use in challenging applications.

Adding to Datamate's existing wire sizes of 22 AWG (large bore) and 24-28 AWG small bore, the new additions to the range feature an extra-small bore, female crimp contact, suitable for use with 28, 30 and 32 AWG wire. This new contact enables designers to use wire, which is less bulky and lighter in weight, allowing designers to achieve a closer packing density of components or a reduce in equipment size. For aerospace and portable applications, the reduction in weight is very significant.

The new contact is gold plated to ensure good conductivity and has a current rating of 3.3A in isolation and 3A on all contacts simultaneously. Contact resistance 25mΩ (maximum), durability is 500 operations. And operating temperature range is -55 to +125ºC.
