BIRGDEN, Germany, October 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Sotal has announced the completion of Google Widevine Digital Rights Management (DRM) and adaptive streaming integration for Oll.tv video service (provided by Digital Screens LLC, Ukraine). This project was unique in terms of complexity, multiplatform scope and the 100% remote installation and configuration.
The integration of Google Widevine allows the operator to improve control over video distribution and usage. It also supports various marketing scenarios, to create tailored content sales packages and to increase the availability of the service for "multiscreen" customers through industry approved formats of video delivery over volatile public internet channels.
"Having a solid strategy we understand that it is crucial for our success in the digital content distribution market to protect content with tools trusted by the content owners. We choose Google Widevine and Microsoft Playready as the most reputable ones in the world. These platforms will allow expansion of our service to a wider range of client devices, and Sotal has helped us to integrate both DRM technologies into asset preparation, publishing and distribution processes, "- stated Nick Nazarov, CTO at Digital Screens.
"This project was great as we could deploy all our competencies to deliver Widevine DRM and adaptive streaming for VOD and Live. We also built on our knowledge in end-user application integration on the basis of our innovative Sotal Lighthouse platform. We trust to expand our mutually beneficial cooperation with DigitalScreens in the future" - commented Sergey Tatarchenko, CEO of Sotal.
