A family of ruggedized PMC cards with front or rear I/O offers up to four dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553 channels that can be operated in bus controller (BC), remote terminal (RT), bus monitor (MT), or RT/MT modes. Designed for military and avionics applications, the BU-65596/7F/M product line from DDC boasts a DO-254 certifiable ASIC core for maximum reliability. The cards feature two external RT address inputs and a total of 16 avionics discrete I/O. Additional options include a BC-disable pin for RT-only applications and a Tx-inhibit pin for MT-only applications, as well as a MIL-STD-1760 RT auto boot pin. Users have the choice of RoHS-compliant or leaded designs, and air- or conductive cooling.

The cards come with 1553 C software development kits for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Linux,, and VxWorks operating systems. Additional software options include BusTrACEr, dataSIMS, and LabVIEW for rapid startup, fast data transfer, and easy generation of source code and custom routines.

Applications include communications, displays, mission computers, digital data recorders, and radar.
