Kilopass releases non-volatile memory IP

Kilopass Technology Inc. reports that it has released Itera, the industry's first and only embedded multi-time programmable (MTP) non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP).  The company is targeting system on chip designers, claiming that they can achieve 70% reductions in cost, 24X increase in performance, and improvements in integration by replacing serial EEPROM and NOR flash in high=volume mobile and consumer applications. Applications include: time stamp, key revocation, firmware updates, and trimming adjustments.

  • Implemented in stadnard CMOS
  • up to 1 Mb storage
  • 1024 cycles of reprogrammability
  • qualified through a high temperature operating life and high temperature storage life standard

Availability:
Itera   is avaialbe in MTP capacity from 32 bit to 1Mb and is now availalbe at all major pure play foundries including TSMC, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, and UMC in 40nm bulk silicon with 65nm and 55nm in the second half of 2011.
