Component reduction
iWatt said the iW3626 lowers BOM cost by eliminating components and reducing the cost of external devices:
• Allows FETs to be replaced with lower-cost BJTs
• Eliminates the need for high-voltage electrolytic capacitors
• On-board, configurable over-temperature protection feature – external NTC resistor not needed
• PrimAccurate primary-side control eliminates the need for a secondary-side regulator and optical feedback isolator
