Free online course: How to Choose a Microcontroller Architecture
Clive Maxfield2/12/2013 12:21 PM EST
I just heard about the latest track coming to the Digi-Key Continuing Education Center – Monday 18 February to Friday 22 February – How to Choose a Microcontroller Architecture (Register Now!)
These are quite fun courses – in fact, I've given a few myself. The format is to have a 1-hour session at the same time (11 am PST / 2 pm EST) each day for five days. It's no big deal if you can’t make it one day, because you can view / listen to the archived version later.
Having said this, it's a good idea to attend the live event, because that way you can take part in the live question and answer session. The format is that the lecturer present's that day's topic for 30 to 40 minutes, after which you can pose questions. As an additional "treat," I'm informed that 25 attendees each day will receive a $5 Starbucks Gift Card.
According to the "official blurb," this track will help you understand the differences of the various markets, study specific microcontrollers and their tools, and discuss the semiconductor process technologies used to build microcontrollers.
The Track features lecturer William Giovino. William is Executive Editor of the popular web portal, Microcontroller.com, and an experienced semiconductor marketing leader with over 25 years' experience.
The various sessions are as follows:
If you found this article to be interest, visit Microcontroller / MCU Designline where – in addition to my Max's Cool Beans blogs on all sorts of "stuff" – you will find the latest and greatest design, technology, product, and news articles with regard to all aspects of designing and using microcontrollers.
Also, you can obtain a highlights update delivered directly to your inbox by signing up for my weekly newsletter – just Click Here to request this newsletter using the Manage Newsletters tab (if you aren't already a member you'll be asked to register, but it's free and painless so don't let that stop you [grin]).
Last but certainly not least, make sure you check out all of the discussions and other information resources at All Programmable Planet. For example, in addition to blogs by yours truly, microcontroller expert Duane Benson is learning how to use FPGAs to augment (sometimes replace) the MCUs in his robot (and other) projects.
