Agilent upgraded EMPro12 is speedier

Agilent Technologies has announced shipment of EMPro 2012, its 3-D electromagnetic simulation software that creates 3-D models and analyzes the electrical performance of packages, connectors, antennas, and other RF and high-speed components.
The upgraded package over EMPro 2011 delivers a number of features for new and existing EMPro users, including the following:

The upgraded package over EMPro 2011 delivers a number of features for new and existing EMPro users, including the following:
- users can save EMPro projects as Advanced Design System libraries; make available 3-D models in ADS as schematic and layout views; and parameters created in EMPro in ADS for EM sweep/optimization. Changes made in EMPro are dynamically updated in ADS.
- a low-frequency analysis algorithm enables results down to below 100 MHz, including at DC. The algorithm also provides accurate DC results for use in higher-frequency circuit simulations.
- Finite Element Method (FEM) simulations are 1.4X faster compared with EMPro 2011.
