German distributor Priggen Special Electronic offers two thermometers from Electronic Temperature Instruments that measure temperature from −199.99°C to +199.99°C with a resolution of 0.01°C and accuracy of ±0.05°C from −30°C to +150°C (otherwise ±0.1°C). Both thermometers have a permanently attached probe with a 1/10th DIN Pt100 sensor.

Applications include checking the calibration and accuracy of other thermometers and probes when used in conjunction with a stable-temperature heat or chill source or comparator. Each instrument comes with a 5-point UKAS certificate of calibration, which indicates deviations from standards at various check points: −18°C, 0°C, +40°C, +70°C, and +100°C.

Powered by three AAA batteries for up to 2000 hours, the units offer a 10-mm digital LCD in a handheld package. The Reference Plus thermometer also includes pushbuttons for data-hold and max/min memory functions.

Prices for the Reference and Reference Plus thermometers are approximately $190 (€233) and $423 (€319), respectively.
