Options for Agilent Technologies' FieldFox 4/6-GHz handheld RF analyzer give users the ability to perform time-domain analyses and channel-power measurements for testing RF communications infrastructure. Intended for installation and maintenance engineers working in the wireless, aerospace, and defense industries, the battery-operated FieldFox boasts measurement stability of 0.01 dB/°C.

With FieldFox's time-domain analysis (Option 010), engineers can determine the individual frequency response of one of a series of reflections. A gating function enables the removal of unwanted responses, such as connector mismatch or cable discontinuities.

The channel power meter (Option 311) is geared to wireless installation and maintenance. It allows channelized average power measurements, without requiring an external USB power sensor. The channel power meter provides better accuracy for banded power measurements, reducing errors caused by out-of-band signals.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the FieldFox 4/6-GHz handheld RF analyzer weighs less than 2.8 kg and comes in two configurations. The N9912A combines seven instruments in one, while the N9923A vector network analyzer offers built-in calibration capability.

Option 010 for both the N9912A and N9923A costs $3700. Option 311 for the N9912A costs $850. Both options are available as software upgrades for existing users.
