Agilent develops VoLTE test system with Brüel & Kjaer

Agilent's PXT wireless communications test set can now be used to test the voice quality of VoLTE (Voice-over-LTE) 4G phones with the Brüel & Kjaer Pulse audio analyzer and HATS (Head and Torso Simulator) system. The joint platform combines standards-based test methods with real-world base-station emulation, RF test, and functional test to ensure that VoLTE phones will meet users' expectations.
The Pulse audio analyzer and HATS system enable testing based on commonly used international standards, such as ITU-T P.862 PESQ, 3GPP2, and 3GPP audio test specifications. Agilent's PXT wireless communications test set offers base-station/network emulation, RF parametric test, and functional test in one integrated unit. Used with Agilent's E6966A IMS-SIP network emulator software, the PXT allows VoLTE phones to make end-to-end voice and video calls using a wide range of industry-standard codecs.
