Virage Logic claims first 65-nm multi-time programmable logic non-volatile memory IP
5/20/2009 11:54 AM EDT
According to Virage Logic (Fremont, Calif.), Aeon is the industry's first multi-time programmable logic NVM solution that is commercially available on a 65-nm process.
Aeon products are part of the product line Virage Logic acquired when it bought Impinj's logic non-volatile memory IP business in 2008.
Aeon enables designers to eliminate external EEPROM from system designs, resulting in reduced power, area and cost combined with increased security, Virage Logic said. Aeon also enables features such as in-field customization, calibration, encryption keys and non-volatile counters, the company said.
The design of Aeon NVM is based on a standard logic CMOS process with no additional masks or processes required, Virage Logic said.
Aeon supports 100,000 write-erase cycles and bit counts from eight bits to 8,000 bits, Virage Logic said. The product has been fully developed and qualified on TSMC's 65-nm low power logic CMOS process with 2.5V IO option, the company said.
Full characterization and qualification data is available for qualified customers upon request, Virage Logic said. Pricing information was not provided.
