PARIS — Japan-based MegaChips Corp. announced it has adopted Cynthesizer SystemC high-level synthesis (HLS) software from Forte Design Systems for its hardware and electronic system level (ESL) design needs.

More specifically, MegaChips said it will use Cynthesizer to develop SoC designs for game machines, digital cameras, audio-visual equipment and terrestrial digital broadcasting applications.

MegaChips said the evaluation process confirmed that Cynthesizer can produce high-performance RTL code, handle design reuse and facilitate RTL tradeoff.

Introduced in June 2009, the latest version of Cynthesizer includes SystemC 2.2 support, tools for partitioning complex hierarchical systems, automated generation of complex interfaces, enhanced control-based design support, memory support upgrades and scalability improvements, Forte (San Jose, Calif.) said.
