Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) has introduced two small and thin low-power transmitters that incorporate HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) version 1.4 specification support for 3-D display resolutions and extended colorimetry.

At 3.45 mm x 3.45 mm x 0.505 mm, the devices feature a 25 percent smaller footprint than competing offerings, according to ADI. Consequently, ADI’s Advantiv low-power transmitters—the 80 MHz ADV7525 and the 150 MHz ADV7526—enable mobile device designers to achieve new levels of miniaturization, flawless HD video performance and power efficiency.

Key highlights:

  • CEC controller and expanded message buffer (3 messages) reduce system overhead
  • HDMI v.1.4a features supported 3D video, extended colorimetry
  • Compatible with DVI v.1.0
  • Embedded HDCP keys to support HDCP 1.3
  • 1.8 V supplies for ultralow operating power
  • Video/audio inputs accept logic levels from 1.8 V to 3.3 V
  • 24-bit video interface
  • Supports HDTV formats up to 720p60f/1080i and 1080p/60f at 1.8V
