A new line of SSDs from Toshiba Storage Products uses toggle multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash technology for high-performance applications. Fabricated using 19-nm processes, the THNSNF series consumes less than 0.1 W of power, making it a good fit for ultrathin notebooks, desktop computers, embedded systems, and external storage devices. The drives operate at about twice the speed of Toshiba’s HG3 series SSDs. They come in four capacities (64, 128, 256, and 512 GB) and in three form factors:

  • THNSNFxxxGBSS - 9.5 mm height, SATA 6Gb/s
  • THNSNFxxxGCSS -7.0 mm height, SATA 6Gb/s
  • THNSNFxxxGMCS - mSATA, SATA 6Gb/s

Additional features include data protection through Toshiba’s quadruple swing-by code error correction code technology (ECC), advanced power management (APM) technology to control power consumption, and optional automatic thermal control to reduce power consumption in response to drive temperatures.
