ISC8 rolls out secure SSD, memory stick

Two new high-security memory devices from ISC8 target government and enterprise customers who need to protect big data. The Vault-MM USB 3.0 memory stick offers storage densities of 512 GB, 1 TB, and soon 2 TB. Its rugged metal casing protects against physical damage. Internal components are sealed in a ruggedized one-piece aluminium case with a hard-wired active self-destruct mechanism that destroys the encryption keys and zeroizes all data.Meanwhile, the Vault-MM mini-PCIe SSD card scales to 512 GB with read and write speeds up to 250 MB/s.

Both products expand ISC8’s Vault-MM Anti-Tamper family, developed from U.S. Department of Defense research. The devices include the company’s patent-pending design using LSI SandForce Flash Storage Processors (FSPs) that offer improved memory access performance while supporting security features such as AES advanced encryption standard; secure erase; zeroization; and information assurance for government and commercial customers, especially those with high-security needs such as financial institutions.
