Toshiba SSDs line includes 24-nm MLC NAND flash
Kristin Lewotsky9/7/2012 4:42 PM EDT
A family of enterprise solid state drives includes three models tuned for specific application types for optimal results: high performance, mid-level performance, and entry-level performance. Each model in the PX series from Toshiba features NAND flash processes, capacity, and interface support tuned for the target segment.
For high-performance applications, the PX02SM integrates 24-nm enterprise MLC NAND flash in 200, 400, 800 GB and 1.6 TB capacities. The drives feature a dual-port 12 Gb/s SAS interface with a form factor matching that of 2.5-in hard disk drives.
For entry-to-mid-level server and storage applications, the PX02AM also features 24-nm enterprise MLC NAND flash but in 100, 200, and 400 GB sizes. All PX02AM SSDs feature a 6 Gb/s SATA interface and power-loss protection.
Targeted at boot, read-intensive, and entry-level server applications, the PX03AN integrates 19-nm consumer MLC NAND flash. It's available in 55, 120, 240, and 480 GB versions, all of which offer power-loss protection.
Key features:

The drives are slated to ship in Q412.
