An SSD with 20-nm NAND flash supports a read bandwidth of up to 550 MB/s and write bandwidth up to 520 MB. OCZ Technology Group Inc.’s newest addition to its Vertex 3 SSD Series is a 2.5-inch, 6 Gb/s SATA III-based multi-level-cell (MLC) drive available in 120-GB and 240-GB storage capacities.

Designed to improve gaming and multimedia experiences on mobile devices and desktops, the Vertex 3.20 SSD features a random read performance of up to 35,000 IOPS and a random write performance of up to 65,000 IOPS, with maximum IOPS of 90,000.

DuraWrite architecture extends flash-rated endurance by 20x or more when compared to standard SSDs. Read/program disturb management safeguards against errant re-programming of cells during read and program cycles. In addition, a recycler performs garbage collection with the least impact on flash endurance.

Additional features:

  • Dimensions: 99.8 mm x 69.63 mm x 9.3 mm
  • Operating temp: 0°C ~ 55°C
  • Power consumption: 2.15 W active, 0.55 W idle
  • Shock resistant up to 1500 G/0.5 ms
  • Utilizes LSI SandForce SF-2200 processor

Supported by a three-year warranty, the Vertex 3.20 SSD will be available shortly through OCZ’s global channels. Find more information on the device here.
