D2 Launches mCUE Mobile Convergence Platform

CES – D2 Technologies has released mCUE, a turnkey solution for multi-mode handsets, including dual-mode cellular plus Wi-Fi phones. As shown in Figure 1, mCUE pairs a "communications user interface" (CUI) with the company's vPort VoIP software to deliver integrated Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and Unified Communications (UC) functionality.

Figure 2. mCUE user interface.The Java-based UI gives users a singe interface for a plethora of communication protocols, including VoIP services such as Skype and Yahoo voice, as well as numerous email and IM chatting applications. Figure 2 shows the interface's converged contact list.
