Aimed at general-purpose applications requiring isolation, including power supplies and motor controllers, Toshiba America Electronic Components TLP290-4 (AC input) and TLP291-4 (DC input) optocouplers feature a quad configuration in a double-molded package and a wider creepage distance of 5mm (min.)
They also offer a wide operating temperature (Ta=-55 to 110 degrees Celsius), making them suitable for high-density surface mounting applications such as programmable controllers and hybrid ICs. The Toshiba TLP290-4 and TLP291-4 both consist of a photo transistor that has been optically coupled to a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode. Additional features include a low profile SO16 package; four channels; safety standard: EN60747-5-2 approved; isolation voltage: 2500 V(rms); and a max operating insulation voltage: 565 Vpk(max).
Pricing: In low quantities, the TLP290-4 is priced at $0.90 and the TLP291-4, at $0.72.

A potentially-interesting part. But the story has no links, either to Toshiba or for the part's information. What's more, I could find no sign of that part at the Toshiba factory website. Hundreds of other TLPxxx parts, but not these two. A big fat zero.
