Curtiss-Wright enhances AVDU-1626/7 6.5" VGA multi-function LCD display
Anne-Francoise Pele3/26/2012 10:22 AM EDT
Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions (CWCDS) has extended the family of Skyquest rugged mission displays for helicopter and fixed-wing platforms with the introduction of an upgraded version of the Skyquest AVDU1626 6.4” display.

The AVDU-1626/7 is a two part display designed for use primarily in cockpit positions where space is very limited and where a full VGA, daylight readable multi-function display is required. The unit is split into front and rear sections to provide a solution for a fold-away installation. A small, short cable connects the front and rear sections of the display.
The enhanced Skyquest AVDU1626 replaces the original fluorescent tube backlighting system. It is a versatile display that enables touchscreen control of connected moving maps. The improved display delivers superior performance LED backlighting for a brighter display and improved dimming control all in the same package. It supports NVG filtered lighting and also utilizes a split box design allowing the display head unit to be installed into tighter spaces.
The AVDU1626 proposes several video inputs, including composite video, S-Video (Y/C), RGB Video or STANAG 3350/B/C.
Skyquest AVDU1626 display performance features:
• Split-box design to allow for display installation in small spaces
• Multiple video inputs including VGA graphics
• Split screen and Picture in Picture modes
• Very High brightness LED display >1000Cd/m², dimmable at all stages of flight, including night flight
• Touch screen interface for control of moving maps (option)

The datasheet is available here.
