Mobile interface eliminates button between keypad and voice recognition

TravellingWave, claims a breakthrough whereby mobile users will no longer be required to press a button to switch modes between keypad and voice-recognition. The company's TravellingWave VoicePredict is a speech interface with an always-listening mode. High levels of noise reduction enable users to speak-and-type text into a mobile device faster and more easily. Users also don't need to have the mobile device next to the mouth to speak or use noise-canceling microphones--it can be at normal typing distance.
According to Marat Garafutdinov, co-founder and technology architect, the technology works by always listening and simultaneously intelligently filtering speech from noise interference. No longer does the user need to push a button to activate noise recognition. The function will advance the seamless interface requirements for voice to text.
