TI rolls infrastructure platform for HSPA+

Texas Instruments has announced an upgrade for its base station development platform that supports the recently ratified HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access Plus) standard. Based on the TCI6488 digital signal processor (DSP), the platform offers updated WCDMA Receive Accelerator (RAC) software.

With this updated platform, base station manufacturers can design a single product spanning HSPA, HSPA+ and LTE (Long Term Evolution). By updating its existing platform, TI allows its customers to focus on the new features necessary to support HSPA+, rather than on designing a new platform.

TI's HSPA+ platform, including the DSP and updated software drivers are available today. Third party development platforms will be available in 1H08. TI will highlight its complete infrastructure offering at the Mobile World Congress Conference in Barcelona. For more information, go to www.ti.com/beyond3g.
