The high-performance GreenChip TEA1713 is a cost-effective solution enabling designers to build highly efficient, highly reliable resonant power supplies. Typical applications include power supplies above 90 W for LCD TVs, plasma TVs, PCs and slim line adapters, as well as high-quality industrial and medical power supplies.
The GreenChip TEA1713 resonant half-bridge converter complies with ENERGY STAR requirements, delivering 90+ percent efficiency with only 50 percent of the power loss of a typical flyback converter for higher power applications. In addition, NXP offers protection features, including capacitive mode protection for resonant converters, high-frequency protection and adaptive dead-time control to ensure GreenChip benchmark robustness.
"Adapters and power supplies are becoming slimmer than ever, even for large TV displays and desktop computers, raising significant challenges for power supply designers," said Edwin Kluter, marketing director, power solutions business line, NXP Semiconductors. "By offering an integrated resonant controller with PFC, the GreenChip TEA1713 makes it straightforward for designers to build highly efficient compact power supplies for ultra-flat notebook adapters, flat panel displays and desktop PCs."
Features
The GreenChip TEA1713 is an integrated resonant controller and power factor controller for universal mains supply operation (70 V to 276 VAC). The resonant half-bridge converter offers a combination of integrated features, including:
- Capacitive mode protection
- Adaptive dead-time control
- High frequency protection (time out)
- Over-current regulation with AC sensing
- Two-level over-current protection with boost voltage compensation
- Burst mode standby
- Two-speed soft-start mechanism
