Multilayer varistor provides 100pF capacitance value

Providing protection to sensitive circuits from over-voltage conditions caused by ESD, lightning, NEMP and inductive switching, the construction of the ultra-compact 100pF 0201 TransGuard Series enables dual functionality—clamping transients and filtering EMI in one device.

The highly-reliable MLV also features the ability to withstand up to 1000 strikes at 8kV contact with a sub-1nS response time for ESD events and a leakage current of <5µA at rated voltage. Providing a 5.6V rating in a 0201 case size, the miniature bi-directional transient voltage suppressor provides minimal signal distortion and low insertion loss.

Applications include handheld devices, including cell phones and PDAs, as well as embedded components such as hearing aids and camera modules.
