Vishay Intertechnology Inc. is touting its latest resistors as the industry's first green, RoHS-compliant (without any exemptions) thick-film rectangular chip devices.
Offering a completely lead (Pb)-free resistor body with pure tin solder contacts and a metal glaze on a high-quality ceramic, the RCG e3 is AEC-Q200 qualified and provides stability of 1% for 1,000 hours at + 70°C in three case sizes: 0603, 0805, and 1206.
Currently, Exemption #5 in the RoHS compliance procedure allows for lead (Pb) in the resistor body. However, to provide an environmental protection level above the current RoHS requirements, designers need to use green, RoHS-compliant products without any exemption. The RCG e3 allows designers to meet the tough demand for completely lead (Pb)-free thick film resistors in consumer, computer, automotive, industrial, and telecom equipment.
