Dallas—Tyco Electronics' just announced JHW250 series half-brick, which delivers up to 250 watts for powering radio frequency amplifiers, is designed as a lower-cost solution for wireless base station applications, telecom equipment, distributed power architectures, and wireless networks.

These DC/DC modules, working from a 36 to 75 VDC input, provide a single, precisely regulated output of 30.2 volts. They incorporate synchronous rectification and an advanced 5-side package to achieve ultra high efficiency—typically 92 percent at 30.2 volts with full load. The output is fully isolated. A built-in filter minimizes the need for external filtering.

Standard features include remote on/off, remote sense, low output ripple and noise, over-temperature protection, output over-current/voltage protection, and output voltage adjustment. Threaded or non-threaded through-holes are available to allow for easy mounting to a cold wall; or a heatsink may be added for high-temperature applications. The converters are fully compliant to RoHS EU Directive 2002/95/EC.
