Fremont, Calif.—Mini-box.com (Ituner Networks) says its picoPSU-120 is the world’s tiniest PC power supply. Delivering up to 120 watts (140 watts peak) from a 12 volt input, the 5-output DC/DC supply measures just 31-by-45-by-20 mm.

That's about the size of two AA batteries, making it one-tenth the size of a standard PC supply at the same power level, according to the company. The picoPSU, fully compliant with ATX specifications, is compatible with all Mini-ITX mainboards and standard motherboards. The supply is also compatible with 1U server rack requirements. Its small size also suits it to robotics applications.

The picoPSU-120, which weighs 27 g without cable harness (57 g including cable harness), delivers up to 6 amps at 5 volts, 1.5 amps at 5 volts (standby supply), 6 amps at 3.3 volts, 7 amps at 12 volts (actually, this output is derived directly from the switched 12-volt source input), and 50 mA at -12 volts for the CPU and an entire range of peripherals (via ATX connector and HDD cable harness). It doesn't require a fan for cooling, and is "100 percent silent," according to the company. MTBF is 100 khours at +55°C.
