AC-DC power supply achieves 92% efficiency at 50% full load

Carlsbad, Calif. -- Emerson Network Power has introduced the DS460S-3 bulk front end AC-DC power supply that can achieve a high typical conversion efficiency of 92 percent at 50 percent full load, meeting the Climate Savers Computing Gold standard.

Applications include distributed power architectures, such as computing, storage, networking, datacom and test and measurement systems.
 
The DS460S-3 has a 1U x 2U form factor, measuring 7.75 inches (196.9 mm) in length and 1.6 inches (40.5 mm) in height. Rated at 460 W, the DS460S-3 power supply generates a main payload output of 12 Vdc and an auxiliary output of 12 Vdc for powering standby circuitry. It features a wide 90 to 264 Vac input voltage range and employs active power factor correction to minimize input harmonic current distortion and ensure compliance with the international EN61000-3-2 standard, with a power factor of 0.99 typical.
