Triquint rolls GaN PA for Counter-IED defense apps

Triquint has launched a 30W GaN power amplifier that supports Counter-IED (C-IED) and general electronic weapons (EW) applications across a 2.5 to 6 GHz frequency range.
Based on Triquint's 0.25µm GaN on SiC manufacturing process, the TGA2576 GaN power amplifier offers 30W of saturated output power with 30 percent PAE and 25dBm of small signal gain.
Main features:
• 2.5 - 6.0 GHz frequency range
• Suitable for C-IED and EW systems
• > 30 percent PAE
• Fabricated using TriQuint's production-released 0.25 μm GaN on SiC process
• 25 dBm small signal gain
Applications:
• C-IED
• General defense / aerospace
• EW systems
Availability:
Die-level samples will be available as from November 2010. Packaged samples are expected to be available in early 2011.
