ZiiLabs has announced two new members of its Zii family of media processors, the ZMS-20 and ZMS-40, which target Android Honeycomb-based tablets. They feature either a dual (-20) or quad (-40) Cortex-A9 processors and an array of up to 96 Stemcell media processing cores.
This, according to ZiiLabs, gives the devices an incredible performance of up t 100 processor cores, previously never seen in the mobile market.
Engineered for the high-resolution tablet computing markets, the ZMS-20 features 48 Stemcell media processing cores and dual 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 MPCore processors with Neon, to deliver up to 1080p video playback, immersive OpenGL ES 2.0 3D graphics, HD video calling and a rich desktop browsing experience.
The ZMS-20 is sampling now, with detailed specifications for the ZMS-40 coming towards the end of this year.
