PA targets 1.9GHz applications

Tyco Electronics has introduced the M/A-COM MAAP-000082, a 1.9-GHz linear power amplifier. Optimized for cost, the M/A-COM MAAP-000082 is a three-stage power amplifier that is well suited for use in PHS (Personal Handyphone System) applications, which require high gain, high efficiency and small size. The linear power amplifier is equipped with advanced ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection and can withstand discharges up to 1,000 V without performance degradation.

The company reports that the M/A-COM MAAP-000082 provides +21-dBm linear output power and 36-dB gain while consuming 200 mA of current. The amplifier has -63 dBc ACPR (adjacent channel power ratio) performance at 600 KHz offset. The amplifier is housed in a lead-free 3mm 12-lead PQFN package.
