Harrisburg, Pa. Tyco Electronics Corp. has launched its ZDC series of RoHS compliant RF coaxial connectors for a host of commercial applications including instrumentation, medical equipment, industrial process and control, transportation and CCTV monitoring. Using precision die-cast components and thermoplastic dielectrics, the ZDC series connectors feature bayonet coupling for rapid connectivity and threaded coupling for secure termination.
Initially available in BNC interfaces and a range of cable-mounted plugs and jacks, bulkhead and PCB sockets, ZDC series connectors offer multiple PCB mounting options and meet MIL-C-39012 and MIL STD348A requirements. The crimp connectors provide repeatable crimp termination, using standard hexagonal crimp tools and die-sets to eliminate retooling.
Designed for an operating temperature range from -55°C up to +85°C, the ZDC connectors are available with either 50- or 75-ohm impedance and a frequency range from DC up to 4 GHz. Minimum durability is 50 cycles. The devices terminate to popular RG coax cables.
